A few tips on updating your Blogger template.
The first tips is to duplicate the browser tab before making any changes to the tab. This is the same as saving your template locally, it's just more convenient. If something goes awry, you can open the original tab, type a white space character anywhere to trigger modified state, then apply the previous theme.
For extra safety, you can copy the template code to vscode.dev. It's automatically saved in the browser, but if can also save it to your computer directly from there.
The second tips require a bit of Blogger template knowledge. Make use of default markups. This allows you to test custom widget for to newly added widged of the same type or older widget that you choose to revert.
Reverting widget means remove all existing changes in the widget, excluding the widget settings, and use the default markup of the same type (is available) or reverting back to the template defaults.
If you don't want new widget to use the default markup, you can temporarily change the name to something like "Draft-" or "WIP-" followed by the widget type.
